Welcome to the Herbalist’s Cupboard!

Mark Jones is a certified herbalist and a science writer. Mr. Jones began his career in the shadowy world of health care as a writer for the University of Idaho, College of Agriculture, Agricultural Communications Center. He wrote articles about the 4-H program, nutrition and the research projects in which scientists at the college were involved.

Some of his earliest articles at the College of Idaho played a role in his eventual decision to abandon the establishment and pursue a career in natural health.

For example, he was among the first to write articles attempting to sell the idea of hormones in dairy cattle to the people of Idaho. If he had known then that he was writing about turning ten-year-old girls into women, just for the sake of making more money, he wouldn’t have done it.

He also helped sell the idea that canola oil was the healthiest oil you could buy; only to find out later that it is the most oxidized, artery damaging oil on the market, and that the damage it causes would be blamed on cholesterol and result in billions in profit for Big Pharma and the canola oil industry, and early death for thousands (millions?) of Americans.

The scanned article below, from Mr. Jones’ portfolio in the mid 1980’s, describes using an antacid in cattle food to help them digest grains, which fatten them up but are not their natural food. Grain makes cattle sick and damages their fat profile so it is unhealthy for humans.

I have been receiving help from Mark Jones for approximately two years with his expertise on what herbal supplements I should be taking. I appreciate Mark’s knowledge in this area as I have greatly benefited from his information. I prefer to stay away from the clinics and hospitals and am able to do this with his help. I am much healthier today as a result of Mark’s guidance.

Today, because cattle are prepared for market (finished) with grain and antibiotics, they are so sick by the time they get butchered that they stumble around and often can’t even remain in a standing position.

After a brief stint in the software industry, Mr. Jones returned to the health-care industry as a writer for a pharmaceutical company. It was in that position that he realized the American people are told everything but the truth about their health.

He also discovered that about 80 percent of the drugs created by pharmaceutical companies are based on natural chemicals found in food and herbs. The companies alter them so they “manage” an illness rather than cure it, synthesize the resulting compound, and often make millions or billions of dollars selling it. Unfortunately, the altered version is almost always much more dangerous than the natural compound. An example almost everyone will recognize is the statin drugs used to control cholesterol (which usually doesn’t need controlling). They were synthesized from the herb, “red rice yeast” which controls cholesterol safely for those few people who really do have too much cholesterol.

Because he already had a strong background in nutrition, Mr. Jones decided to learn about herbs and the human body. He quit his job with the pharmaceutical company and began studying biology. He soon discovered he enjoyed cellular biology, and how our bodies take a bag full of chemicals and turn them into a walking, talking, totally facinating wonder so amazing that if it weren’t for the fact that we are walking and talking, it would be as unbelievable as the idea that men from the moon are invading Earth.
